Ah yes wiffle ball....americas game...and the worst thing for your swing. wiffle ball is the same as hitting knuckle balls in practice which is also something we shouldnt do. think with the little head not the big head guys. i think that's part of our problem. and joe start having fun out there. you could possibly be the only kid ive ever seen tense in an inter-squad game. chill dawg its all good.

Is hitting not about adjusting to the timing, be it a curve ball, fastball, change-up or even a knuckleball? Afterall, that practice wasn't just for the hitters, we do need to find another steady pitcher or two, esp when we make it to the playoffs and have to start playing more games than one a week. Not to jump the gun though.

hey, we had 6 guys outside playing ball together with smiles on their faces for the first time in weeks, I think a lil wiffle ball was exactly what the doctor prescribed. And if you would have shown up u would know that no-money's 80 mph heater is anything but a knuckle ball. I think chris is the first documented case of someone who can throw a whiffle ball harder then he can throw a baseball.

timing and hand eye coordination may get a little better, but wiffle ball makes all swing mechanics get thrown out the window if played too much. i dont think one game is doing too much damage though as long as it will get people to start havin some frickin fun. baseballs a fun game dammit, so start havin some fun.

I think we need a 76ers type trip. skip a practice and go play some paintball or something.

sounds good to me, but let's pick one of the 5 days of the week we dont have baseball to go instead of cancelling practice.

hitting at a higher level is about timing and adjusting but in this piece of crap league that were in pitchers dont have off-speed pitches and if they do theyre too chicken sh*t to use them. basically if you cant catch up to the 70 mph "heat" with ur loopy swing youre nothing cause ull never see that off-speed pitch. and about the pitching dont worry about the pitching just give me more then one start every 2 months

Benner, are you kidding me? You play every inning of every game. I think complaining about your lack of frequent starts is outrageous. I haven't pitched a single inning at all this year. I know you are a lot better than me at pitching but how am I gonna get better if I just keep throwing batting practice? Ok so you aren't on the mound every game, you still get a hell of a lot more playing time than most of the team.

yah u know why i play every inning because i play baseball everyday and ive never quit in the middle of a game. im either running hitting throwing or working out everyday of the week bad back and all. the reason i brought it up about pitching is because im trying to get better. it wasnt like i woke up one day and said hey im gonna be good at this game. ive earned everything ive got. and you better take a good look at yourself before you ever call me out again.

agreed. What we need is to just settle down and play baseball as a team. The time off inbetween games has been unbearable and with the last time we hit the field being that sorry excuse for a game, it's easy to get a little edgy. Two more games possible this week, mother nature pending, lets go out and win them like we know Boyle can.
